Privacy
Politician Tracker is built with a privacy-first approach. We collect the absolute minimum data needed to operate the site.
What we do not do
- We do not use Google Analytics, Plausible, Umami, or any other analytics service.
- We do not set any tracking cookies or use fingerprinting techniques.
- We do not use any third-party advertising pixels or trackers.
- We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties.
- We do not embed third-party content that could track you (no social media widgets, no external fonts loaded at runtime).
Cookies
The public pages of this site set no cookies at all. The admin area (accessible only to authorised editors) uses a strictly necessary session cookie for authentication. No cookie banner is required because we only use strictly necessary cookies.
Server logs
Our hosting provider may collect minimal server-side request logs for operational purposes (e.g. error diagnosis). These logs have short retention periods, IP addresses are not stored long-term, and no user identification is performed from them.
Error tracking
We use Sentry for server-side error tracking to maintain site reliability. Sentry is configured with IP address scrubbing enabled and request body dropping, so no personally identifiable information is collected. No client-side performance tracing is performed.
Third-party requests
Public pages make zero cross-origin network requests except to primary data sources (UK Parliament APIs) when performing server-side data fetches. All data fetching happens server-side; your browser does not contact any third-party service while viewing this site.
Your local data
The “My constituencies” feature stores your selected constituencies in your browser’s localStorage only. This data never leaves your device, is never sent to our servers, and you can clear it at any time by using the clear button in the constituencies panel or by clearing your browser data.
Data rights
Since we do not collect personal data, there is typically nothing to request access to or deletion of. If you have any questions or concerns about privacy, please contact us at contact@example.invalid.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change our privacy practices, this page will be updated. Our commitment to a no-analytics, no-tracking approach is a core design principle of the project.
